About the Mental Health Project

Latest news: Due to the recent loss of contract, the Mental Health project is going independent. This simply means the group will be self sufficient and acquire funding via our (soon to be OCN accredited) training arm and various bids. Despite rumours to the contrary we are continuing to conduct meetings with service users, liaise with the services in Warwickshire and campaign for better services whilst battling against stigma. All other V4C projects will continue as normal.
Here at Voices 4 Choices the Mental Health team seek to enable people who use or have used mental health services to have their say about those services and so contribute to service improvement.
We aim to:
- support and train service users to express their opinions
- develop the project according to the needs and views of service users
- support and encourage the empowerment of service users
- promote self advocacy
- support service users who wish to become involved in meetings with service providers and other agencies e.g. job centre plus, housing or police
- ensure that providers of services positively encourage and listen to service users in the development of services
- enable service users' voices to be heard directly
We offer service users the opportunity to make their voices heard and work to make a difference to the mental health services in Warwickshire.
